Williamson Street's new upscale dumpling restaurant, FEAST Artisan Dumpling and Tea House, serves dumplings so good, they don't need dipping sauce. Mike Wang, who opened the restaurant this summer with his wife, Judy Zhu, said business is going OK and that the restaurant is open for dine-in, carry out and delivery. Brian and Kim LaDow opened Skal Public House in May 2018 on Mount Horeb's Main Street in what was best known as Sole Sapori for 11 years. Brian LaDow said that business is going as well as possible. The restaurant is doing carryout, including curbside, dine-in and local delivery.

Curating the City

Garibaldi Mexican Restaurant opened June 1 on Butler Street, close to the Capitol Square. Erik Francisco Doroteo, whose father, Felipe Francisco Juan, owns the restaurant, said business has been OK. "We have more new customers coming in, some coming in once a week," he said. "We have some slow days, but more people are getting to know us." Erik said the restaurant is seating inside at 25% capacity with tables spaced six feet apart. We passed, but as it was delivered to nearby tables, I got relish tray envy.

Los Angeles Union Station (LAUS) retains a history that rivals that of the city whose name it bears. Today, it is a vital intermodal transportation center that serves as a hub for Amtrak intercity passenger rail; Metrolink commuter rail; and Metro rail and Metro bus services. As of 2019, more than 100,000 travelers, commuters and visitors pass through the station every day. Amarillo – The two-story stucco depot opened in 1910 with a Harvey House Restaurant. It closed in 1940 and in the 1970s, the railroad sold the building.

It becomes this kind of echoing pattern that is so much more powerful than any one isolated story. So prosecutors tried to re-create that in the courtroom. They brought in these additional witnesses who had really powerful stories, and that was instrumental to Weinstein being convicted. Some of these stories took place outside of New York City. Others took place a long time ago, which meant that they were outside of the statute of limitations.

Well, it’s definitely a symbolic blow for the #MeToo movement and also for accountability, which is part of what powers the movement. If you think of progress like a wheel spinning forward, part of what powers the wheel is accountability, because women only want to come forward if they think something may actually happen. When they see consequences for some men, it encourages others to step forward. Now, the California rules are a little clearer on what evidence is admissible.

Inside, painting conservators rediscovered the original floral patterns painted on the ceilings of the principal spaces. Created by artist Herman Sachs, the stylized designs recall the colorful wildflowers for which California is world famous. Over the decades, their vibrant appearance and form had become obscured by cigarette smoke and other environmental pollutants, but they once again enliven the station. The restaurant at Union Station opened in 1939 and closed in 1967. It was only used for filming and special events until October 2018, when it reopened as the Imperial Western Beer Company.

Yesterday, New York’s highest court of appeals overturned that conviction. So in a way, you’re saying that the story is much bigger than those criminal allegations against Weinstein. But underneath, there is this whole culture of men abusing their power, against women in particular, in the workplace. And so to prove those cases, you have to try to get new kinds of evidence in court. And some of those attempts are going to succeed, as they did in the Weinstein trial the first time around. And some of those efforts are going to fail, as we see with the overturning of the conviction.

The Harvey House is one of the most striking spaces in Madison, with one of its dining rooms built on an old train platform. The Harvey House, which opened July 20 tucked into the Madison Train Depot, behind Motorless Motion Bicycles on West Washington Avenue, takes some menu items from the supper clubs of old and elevates the preparation. Joe Papach and Shaina Robbins Papach spent three years creating The Harvey House, which they're billing as a modern-day supper club. The three-story-tall ceiling of the Fred Harvey Room is painted with a dazzling geometric design.

Gérard Depardieu to Stand Trial Over Sexual Assault Allegations

Their arguments were unanimously rejected in February by a lower court. But on Thursday, the Supreme Court’s conservative majority seemed more receptive to Trump’s claims. If the court rules in the former president’s favor, it could potentially delay any trial in the matter until after the election. Well, it’s also a sign of health in the system, because what we’re seeing in prosecutions across the country is more testing of this sort.

More than 20 years ago, I asked Weinstein if he was worried about some reporter finally getting the story of his predations on the record. He knew he had it all stitched up, with his deep pockets, his lawyers and the signatures on nondisclosure agreements. He knew that others were frightened about what he could do — and in some cases did — to their careers.

An original wooden depot burned to the ground in 1916 and was replaced by the magnificent depot that stands today. In its heyday, approximately 85 percent of the townspeople depended on the railroad for their livelihood. Fred Harvey restaurants were once a famous chain of eateries that served railroad depots. Part of the chain's mystique were the Harvey Girls, the proper young women who came west to work in the restaurants and, in the process, civilized rowdy towns. Harvey Girls were immortalized on the silver screen in the 1946 film The Harvey Girls starring Judy Garland. The song “On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe,” which she sang in the film, won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
